In 1997 the Yarrabah Council had funding from the Government to build two halls. One hall is the Leisure Centre for kids and the other hall is the Community Hall.
The Leisure Centre is there for kids from 18 yrs and under to keep kids occupied by playing video games, watching their favourite movies on the big screen TV, playing pool table and attending the Blue Light Discos which are held by the P.C.Y.C. Queensland Police.
In the past many kids had been involved in stealing and vandalising, but now with the Leisure Centre here in Yarrabah, crime rates have fallen and kids are beginning to enjoy themselves.
The Community Hall is also useful for functions such as weddings, live band music and discos where locals enjoy themselves.
