CATSIN’s main function is to increase the numbers of numbers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in nursing and midwifery and to promote education of non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives in history, health and culture. CATSIN also advises the broader health sector.

Selection criteria
Ideally an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and registered nurse or midwife with the ability to:
· work in a small team;
· work alone with minimal supervision and
· meet deadlines.
and have
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ health.
· Understanding of recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives.
· Project management experience
· Advanced written and research skills
· Knowledge of professional issues affecting nursing and midwifery
